A New Chapter at Just Resorts and My First Trip to La Manga Club Resort

It’s been a month since I started my position at Just Resorts, and I can honestly say it’s been a fantastic decision. After over 20 years in the travel industry, with experience owning a tour operating business specialising in luxury travel on the Algarve, it’s exciting to bring my passion for high-end travel into a new role. I’ve spent years curating personalised experiences for clients, from private villas to luxury golf resorts, building lasting relationships with repeat travellers. Later, I had the opportunity to work with a worldwide travel franchise, which took me to luxury resorts around the globe on familiarisation trips — an incredible way to experience the best our industry has to offer.

First Impressions of La Manga Club Resort, Spain

My journey with Just Resorts began with an unforgettable familiarisation trip to La Manga Club Resort in Spain. Set on 1,400 acres of stunning Spanish landscape, this sports-focused resort is truly the best of the best in Europe. With world-class golf courses, an exceptional tennis centre, and fantastic academies for football, tennis, and padel, La Manga Club Resort is a dream destination for active families. There’s so much to do here that it’s hard to fit everything into one trip.

Exploring La Manga's Exclusive Communities

During our stay we viewed a wide range of properties, which included an impressive selection of apartments, townhouses, and villas, ranging from cozy two-bedroomed units to spacious seven-bedroomed homes. La Manga Club Resort has something for every traveller, especially for groups of families or friends who want the ideal balance of independence and proximity. The resort is thoughtfully laid out with several unique communities, each offering its own pool arrangements — some with private pools, others with shared options.

Conveniences like shops, supermarket, fuel station, banks, bars, and restaurants are all located along the main road that winds through the resort, making it incredibly easy for guests to access everything they need. The Grand Hyatt Hotel is the only Hyatt on a resort in the world and is the gateway to two of the resort’s acclaimed golf courses. The Racquets Club, catering to tennis and padel enthusiasts, is also located on the main drive.

For my stay, I was lucky enough to experience the Grand Hyatt La Manga Golf & Spa Hotel. Walking through the doors, I was immediately struck by the signature fragrance that fills the lobby, a touch of pure luxury crafted exclusively for the hotel. This 5-star gem sets the tone with a warm welcome, including a complimentary glass of champagne at check-in — an elegant touch that made me feel instantly at home. The friendly, attentive staff made it clear that hospitality here is an art.

The Grand Hyatt Experience

The Grand Hyatt offers an incredible level of luxury. Each of the rooms are spacious, many with interconnecting options that make it perfect for families. Every room type includes luxurious Balmain toiletries, adding a touch of unexpected indulgence to the stay. For guests staying in suites, complimentary access to the Grand Club Lounge is provided. This is an exclusive space overlooking the golf course where guests can enjoy teas, coffees, cocktails, spirits, snacks and tapas in a tranquil setting until early evening. The Last Green cocktail bar was a highlight, offering a perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks. When it came to dining, the hotel truly shines. The range of exceptional restaurants makes the half-board option ideal, with culinary experiences that elevate every meal. My personal favourite? The Asian restaurant, where the flavours and presentation created a dining experience that went above and beyond.

The Grand Hyatt specialises in weddings, events, and conferences, with beautiful facilities that can elevate any occasion.

Clubhouse and Practice Centre: A Golfer’s Paradise

We experienced 37 Spikes & Sports Bar, where you can immerse yourself in a unique atmosphere dedicated to great legends like Seve Ballasteros and Arnold Palmer. Breathtaking views and an exceptional selection of dishes, it's the perfect place to relax and recharge before or after your round.

The pro golf shop has all the latest equipment and apparel and the new Golf Academy and Practice Centre at La Manga Club aims to help you enjoy golf more and improve every time you step out onto the course. So, whether you've never picked up a golf club before, you're looking to shed some 'bad habits' in your game, or you want a long-term development plan, the team of qualified professionals will be on hand to help you achieve your goals and fully enjoy the game of golf. They also feature 2 modern teaching rooms, 4 separate group teaching rooms (ideal for visiting professionals) and a practice facility with 45 bays and short game facilities, ensuring that all learning and practice objectives can be achieved by any client.

Alma’ Spa: A Luxurious Retreat

After a long day of property viewings in the sunshine, Alma’ Spa was exactly what I needed to unwind. I enjoyed a deep tissue massage with aromatic essential oils, expertly administered by a therapist whose skill made it the ultimate relaxation experience. The spa itself is a sanctuary, featuring a thermal contrast pool, hydromassage bath, invigorating showers, an ice fountain, steam bath, and sauna.

I didn’t manage to use the high-tech fitness centre within the spa building, but it has everything from cardio machines to advanced strength training equipment, offering a comprehensive space for both intense workouts and gentle fitness routines.
